The Mid-America Music Festival brings together studios from across the Midwest to celebrate dedication, discipline, and musical artistry. Students perform within structured divisions, guided by established standards and official test pieces, creating an experience that honors both tradition and achievement. Kevin Olson joins the 2026 Mid-America Music Festival as a nationally recognized pianist, composer, and educator whose work bridges disciplined preparation with expressive performance. As Professor of Piano at Utah State University and a respected leader in keyboard studies, Dr. Olson brings decades of experience guiding students and teachers toward musical excellence.
His commissioned works and residencies across the United States and abroad reflect a deep commitment to piano pedagogy and artistic growth. His presence at this year’s festival reinforces the festival’s dedication to structured standards, thoughtful evaluation, and meaningful performance opportunities for young musicians.
